My mom had schizophrenia. It went untreated. I watched her several-year journey and feared so greatly I’d follow her footsteps.
I just finished reviewing all the entries I made over the years about her mental illness and trying to help her get treatment. I was startled to realize that blogging and life have taken away my fear that her story could be my own. I trust that between myself and my loved ones, there are opportunities and options.
I no longer feared, and yet … it was still so inspiring to read your post, and have confirmation. Thank you.
