I don’t usually talk about my faith or politics here. I have strong feelings about both, but this blog has never been about that. So, if you are uninterested in issues of faith, then skip my latest article on Patheos: No Matter How Smart They Think They Are, Atheists Don’t Shake My Faith. If you have an interest, pop over there and let me know what you think – either way, I hope you are healthy in body and mind.
God bless atheists. 😃

Thank you for reading and for leaving your very thoughtful comment. I am not going to respond over there because it seems to me like most people on that site are there to argue and fight. I have no desire to argue or fight 🙂

The comments on your piece seem disproportionately from hardcore atheists. Angry ones at that, or at the least, insensitive. No biggie. The writing was beautiful, and there were no comments to the contrary. You were so very brave to write about religion. That’s a tough one. Excellent work.

I was a little shocked that atheists spend their time on Christians sites. Why? To argue? I don’t get it. Yes, many people there seem angry and I am unwilling to argue or fight. Thanks for reading it and for your kind words. 🙂

I’m not a believer myself, but I thought your article was thoroughly wonderful. I’m also not an atheist though. I’m sort of with Kierkegaard in some ways, not everything can be shown or explained or proven and sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith. Comfortable with mysteries and willing to be awed rather than always searching for an explanation.
Your articles have been great for me. Thank you, and take care.

Thank you for your kind words and support. The comments on the site are not nearly as generous or thoughtful. 🙂

Oh my goodness. Those pesky atheists. 🙂 They enthusiastic on social media. Not being a witness to any of these conversations, I must accept your take on it. Speaking on behalf of myself, I don’t care what you believe. I have zero interest in persuading you away from your faith. If you find comfort in it, then that’s a positive. I’m grateful to progressive Christians who support a life of respect and dignity for everyone. I respect those Christians who value living in secular pluralistic society where all beliefs and lack of belief are equally recognized. If it were not for those who proselytize, the subject of my atheism wouldn’t ever come up.
So there’s that.

Thanks for reading my post and for your comment! Yes, there is room enough for all of us without arguments (debates are fine as long as they don’t involve anger). 🙂
