The title of this post is the title of my latest essay on Medium. Sorry about the swear word to those of you who don’t like that kind of language. I couldn’t think of a better way to describe my husband and his role in helping me manage schizophrenia and being open and honest about my diagnosis. I hope you will read the essay and clap for it if you like it. The link is here.

Sometimes friends and relatives have to fight the anti-stigma fight for individuals with schizophrenia. An individual with schizophrenia alone just announcing that he or she one has schizophrenia is almost like announcing that he or she is prone to random acts of irrational violence due to the terrible stigma that now surrounds schizophrenia. People with schizophrenia need people in their corner. You are very fortunate in having a very supportive husband.
